《사적인 프로토콜》은 사물을 수집하고 배열하는 과정을 통해 세계와 관계를 맺는 방식을 탐구한다. 개인의 일상적인 정리 행위와 제도적 기록 시스템 사이에 놓인 구조적 유사성에 주목하며, 기록이 필연적으로 발생시키는 누락과 어긋남의 순간을 가시화한다. 이를 통해 기록의 행위가 무엇을 남기고 배제하는지에 대한 질문을 제기한다. 기록이 대상을 보존하려는 시도와 동시에 일부를 제거하고 변형하는 과정이라는 점에 주목하며, 이를 ‘기록의 실패’라는 개념으로 다룬다. 기록이 실패할 수밖에 없는 구조를 오류로 규정하기보다, 그 실패가 발생하는 과정에 시선을 둔다. 퍼포먼스에서는 사물을 끊임없이 옮기고 수직 기둥을 움직인다. 기록을 세계를 완전히 재현하는 수단이 아닌 불완전한 행위로 바라보며, 그 속에서 형성되는 관계의 방식을 드러낸다.

Private Protocol explores ways of relating to the world through the collection and arrangement of objects. It focuses on the structural similarities between everyday acts of organising and institutional systems of recording, making visible the moments of omission and discrepancy that inevitably arise through acts of recording. In doing so, it questions what acts of recording preserve and what they exclude. The work considers recording as a process that simultaneously seeks to preserve its subject while removing and transforming parts of it, approaching this condition through the concept of the “failure of recording.” Rather than treating this failure as an error, it focuses on the process through which it occurs. In the performance, objects are continuously moved and vertical columns are repositioned. The work regards recording not as a means of fully representing the world but as an inherently incomplete act, revealing the forms of relationship that emerge through this process.
